Suncatchers

Veronica and Ranoo are teaming up again to share their love of mandalas and rainbow-reflecting suncatchers.  Join us for painting, patterns and a little bit of magic!

Suncatcher Workshop

This class is about more than making a beautiful suncatcher.

We’ll start from the very beginning.  We'll walk you through the entire process for creating a beautiful piece of art with a strong center, creating flow in the outer details, and developing patterns that open up new possibilities in your own work.

You’ll learn:
• Color mixing techniques (Veronica will teach the main palette but we both will teach some unique highlights colors to complement the designs!)
• Brushstroke + dotting combinations for added depth
• How to keep patterns clean, intentional and balanced
• Suncatcher construction — hoops, jump rings, crystals, and finishing details

We'll provide you the framework, so you can create suncatchers in the future.

Whether you’re newer to mandalas or ready to expand your pattern vocabulary, you’ll walk away with:

✨ Two finished suncatchers in coordinating colors
✨ Stronger painting fundamentals
✨ New pattern ideas you can reuse in future pieces
✨ More confidence mixing color

Replays will be available so you can pause, paint, and move at your own pace.

We're so excited to be teaching again.

What You’ll Learn

Module 1: Paint Mixing + Board Prep

We’ll start with the foundation.

Learn how to mix our custom coordinating color gradient, plus accent and background colors that allow your two suncatchers to feel connected without being identical.

You’ll learn:

  • How to build a smooth gradient

  • How to mix supporting colors

  • How to prep and base-coat your boards for the cleanest results

Our pieces will coordinate beautifully, but you’ll have the freedom to mix and match colors to make them your own.

Module 2: Painting Your Mandala

This is where it all comes to life.

You’ll learn how to paint two 6-inch designs: one in each of our signature styles.

We’ll cover:

  • Building a balanced design

  • Filling space with intentional brushstrokes

  • Layering delicate florals

  • Creating flow and movement within a small circular space

This module focuses on strengthening your pattern vocabulary while giving you structure to feel confident.

Module 3: Suncatcher Construction

We’ll finish by transforming your painting into a luminous, hanging piece.

You’ll learn:

  • How to wrap crystals securely

  • How to attach jump rings and hanging elements

  • How to balance weight and movement

  • How to assemble your finished suncatcher cleanly and professionally

You’re welcome to follow our exact pattern — or adapt the style to create something uniquely yours. Once you understand the foundational skills, the possibilities truly open up.

OPTIONAL Suncatcher Kits

We’ll provide a full supply list so you can source materials on your own.

For those just getting started — or who want a streamlined experience — optional kits will be available.

Ranoo’s Kit Includes:

  • A coordinating stencil (a traceable design will also be provided in class)

  • Double Tier Suncatcher supplies

Veronica’s Kit Includes:

  • Her signature embellishments

  • A curated crystal mix that gives her suncatchers their distinctive beauty

Kits are designed to make getting started easier — but they are completely optional.
