Mandala Suncatcher Workshop

About me.

My name is Ranoo Sabnis. I’m a full-time OB/GYN in Southern California, a mom of three, and now—an artist, too. Mandala painting has become a grounding part of my daily life outside of work, and I’m beyond excited to be hosting a new workshop.  We'll incorporate mandala patterns and jewelry work to create beautiful sun catchers!

I started painting mandalas in 2022 and quickly fell in love with the bold, expressive nature of brushstrokes. As a serial crafter, I have also played with jewelry making and this is a lovely way to combine the two art forms.

Join me and a wonderful group of fellow mandala artists for a day of learning a new skill, refining your mandala creation and color mixing. 

Itinerary!

  • 9am:  Meet and greet at the studio

​

  • 9:30am: Mix your paint - no MandalaDoc lesson is complete without mixing your own palette.  You'll be able to choose from a few color palettes to make your unique mandala

​

  • 10-12pm: Paint your mandala!

​

  • 12-1pm: Lunch - see the menu below!

​

  • 1-5 pm: Finishing touches on mandalas, learn the art of wire wrapping, basic jewelry making.  Work with me to crease a beautiful suncatcher

Join a supportive online space just for workshop attendees—connect before and after the event, ask questions, share progress, and keep the creative momentum going.

📝 Pre-Workshop 
You’ll receive an email from me to help tailor your mandala sun catcher colors!  Each student will create a unique sun catcher!

​

🎨 Custom 8 inch suncatcher supplies
Each attendee will receive supplies to create an 8 inch sun catcher, complete with the best rainbow throwing crystals.  

​

🌈 Paint Mixing Session
Before the workshop, you’ll work with Ranoo to choose a color gradient to mix in person. All paints will be provided—just bring your creative spirit!

📐 Mandala Pattern + Brushstroke Technique

You can create your own pattern, but if you need help, I'll be here to help you create a beautiful mandala to fit inside your sun catcher

  • Bryanna Ballard (@dotswithbre) will be my teaching assistant to help with any painting techniques and logistical questions over the weekend

    • 2 Glasses of wine (red or white)

    • Nutella Cheesecake 

    • Moscato Desert Wine 

    • Water/soda
